Update on todays rant

More details have leaked out of this awful story today:

Somehow this woman who already had 6 kids is only 33, she is a single mom (divorced last year), who is living with her parents - who declared bankruptcy last year (the grandfather is the one going to Iraq), IFV can cost around 7-18K dollars (according to Primetime ABC News for one round, they said in their tv report but not in the print article), and the cost for the babies to be in the NICU is estimated to be around $100,000 per baby/per stay. And here is the kicker, not only could she afford (supposedly) to do this (have 8 more babies, pay the hospital bills for 46 some odd doctors, support 14 children - all at the amazing age of 33 while single), she also has a nanny. So I guess the super rich really are entitled to whatever they want. Guess who is probably going to get to pay for all of this. Thats right - you and me.

Primetime:

"According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's new Cost of Raising a Child Calculator -- a new tool the department has developed to help parents prepare for expenses and life insurance -- a middle-class family living in the western United States can expect to spend at least $9,171 on year's worth of housing, food, transportation, clothing, health, education and other expenses for a single child under the age of 1.

For eight children under the age of 1, that number mushrooms to $73,368."
