Western Slope Regional Adoption Fair

This weekend is the Western Slope Regional Adoption Fair! We went by tonight to preview the dogs. I have been wanting a dog for a really long time and John has come around to the idea. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to blog about our new Dog(s)!!

The fair is sponsored by many of the regions animal shelters and charities. The Best Friends Animal Society out of Kanab, Utah is also a co-sponsor. This is an excellent organization that operates the country's largest sanctuary for homeless animals. On any given day, the sanctuary is home to about 2,000 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, and other animals. "Best Friends works globally with animal shelters and rescue groups to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless pets. Best Friends advances initiatives nationwide that promote community approaches to making the world a better place through kindness to animals, which includes adoption, spay-neuter, and humane education programs." Check out their website. I hope someday to have time to go down there and volunteer for a week or two and help with their great cause!!

On another Happy note, we found out that our kittens we fostered all found homes their first weekend up for adoption. Not surprising; they are incredibly cute and fun! I am glad they have found homes and look forward to our next foster kittie(s) :)
