As I mentioned in my other post, John and I recently spent the weekend in Denver. We caught a Dead concert on Thursday and a baseball game on Saturday. Sunday I had a chance to go fabric shopping with my friend Tiffany and her children, which was great. I do not have anyone to go shopping with or any girlfriends in Grand Junction, so it was nice to get to while in Denver.
Afterwards John and I went to the Denver Art Museum to check out the "The Psychedelic Experience" - an exhibit of Psychadelic concert posters from the San Francisco area. It was really awesome! If you are in Denver before July 19 I really suggest you check it out!
After the art exhibit John and I drove over to the Pepsi Center and got a great parking place and then walked over to a local Morracan resturant. We then headed over to the Fleetwood Mac concert. This is one concert I never expected to get to see. When I read that they were touring again I looked up their concert dates but they were not heading our way. On out way back from one of the various trips to California this spring I saw that they were playing in Vegas, so I rechecked the dates and was trilled to see they were playing Denver the same weekend as the Dead concert we already had planned to see. I asked John if we could go, but since it was a Sunday night show he didn't think we could do it, since we had to work on Monday. I pretty much gave up on the idea and was trying to schedule a time to see a baseball game while in Denver. I asked John if we should go to the game on Sunday and he said no. When I went to bed that night he had left the tickets out to surprise me. He had wanted to give them to me on our 8 month wedding anniversary, but said he could not wait any more. I was super surprised. He is good at surprising me like that.
So that is how we got the tickets. It was a great show, started a bit late (I guess they all do). We had seats directly in front of the stage, all the way back up high, but we could see very well. We took the binoculars again and I tried to take some pictures with my camera though them (they did not turn out to well). I also shot a video of "Landslide" which was great to see live. They played all of their hits (since they are not touring to promote a new album). They even played "Don't Stop" which sadly now always reminds me of the Clinton inauguration - visions of politicians with fake smile plastered on their faces, waving to people they do not know, dancing very badly, and clapping off beat. My favorite of the night was "Go your own way" which was great! They seemed to have a good time, and I am really glad we got to go to the show! It was a great way to end a great weekend.
